Bryozoans - Evactinopora radiata SOLD OUT Unique and unusual are these well prepared specimens of Bryozoa. They may, at first glance, look similar to starfish but these small "moss animals" are aquatic creatures living in colonies of interconnected individuals. The specimens offered here are Mississippian in age and come from the Glen Fern Formation in Jefferson County, Missouri. The rays (or arms) range from 4 to 8 per specimen. (To date I have not found an explanation for the differences in the number of rays.) The light color Bryozoans contrast nicely with the slightly reddish brown of the matrix material. Several of the specimens have a coral as well. Please order by letter designation shown in the photo. Please note that our prices for these exquisite specimens are considerably less than other dealers. |
